This website is your guide to preparing for, setting up, and hosting the UnReached Experience at your church. From initial preparation to welcoming your congregation, you’ll find the resources and information you need to create an engaging and meaningful VR experience for your church.
Executive Summary
Welcome to The UnReached Experience: 10 Minutes in Tanzania! Our intent to assist you in having a successful event, showcasing a one-of-a-kind experience using some of the most advanced technology available. All of this is to help every individual engage the unreached world and see how discipleship-based church planting is spreading the gospel to places that have never had it. At the end of the experience, it gives every viewer the opportunity to plant more churches around the world.
Your willingness to host is very much appreciated! We want to come alongside you to help you have the most successful experience possible. The 4 areas of focus are: prayer, planning, preparation, and promotion. Each area of focus is critical to the success of your event, and we will equip you with everything you need to make that happen!
Rooted in the heart of Tanzania, The UnReached Experience: 10 Minutes in Tanzania, follows the path of how the gospel comes to a woman named Salma, the central character of the story. The experience concludes with the opportunity for every person to plant 1, 10 or even 100 churches every year through The Timothy Initiative’s dynamic Church Planting Circle (CPC) program.
It is our sincere hope that this opportunity ignites the hearts of those that see it for Jesus.
4 Areas of Focus
How it Works?
It works as each person utilizes a TTI provided VR headset able to virtually transport every individual to Tanzania for a 10-minute, 360-degree, stereoscopic experience. The experience guides the observer through several different scenes, watching the gospel move from person to person to reach our main character (Salma).
Finally, the experience concludes by helping the traveler get a glimpse into a global movement of activity across the world, culminating in an opportunity to partner with The Timothy Initiative and plant 1, 10, 100 or more churches every year through the Church Planters Circle. This experience is for everyone (grade school children age on up), including those from the community, so we encourage your church to get the word out and use this as an opportunity for people to invite their unchurched friends and neighbors.
Supplies and Requirements
Provided by Your Church
• Dedicated space for the UnReached Experience (church lobby, large multi-purpose room, etc.)
• 4 volunteers per shift
• 2 6ft or 8ft tables
• 2 Table Cloths
• 6 Swivel Chairs
• 1 Trash Can (small)
• Cleaning Wipes
• 1-2 Power strips
Provided by The Timothy Initiative
• 6 to 10 Oculus Headsets & Controllers
w/headphones attached.
• 6 to 10 Charging squares and Cords
• VR Experience Pop up Tent (10' x 10' x 10') or Pull up Banners
• Handful of Pens
• Promotional materials
• Church Planting Circle Cards
The Set-Up
Allow 3-5 hours before the event to ensure the Oculus headsets are fully charged! In addition to setting up the stations, the Oculus devices may need to be configured. This process alone can take an hour for one person, so it’s best to ask your volunteers to assist.
The Tear Down
Once the Unreached Experience: 10 Minutes in Tanzania has concluded, there are a few tasks to complete.
Re-pack all the VR materials & send them back to TTI as soon as possible. We know your church may not be open the next day, but it’s important to get items sent back as soon as possible. Other churches are waiting to hold their VR events, and supplies are limited.
Return FedEx labels are included with each shipment sent to you to return items. Please contact us asap if you need more labels.

Welcome guests, manage sign in sheet, give general info, & direct "traffic.”
Virtual Reality
Volunteers (2+ People):
Assist guests in preparing headsets and providing instructions before and after the video, clean headsets & headphones.
Church Planters Circle
Table Volunteer (1 Person):
Thank guests, answer CPC questions, encourage guests to register to plant
at least one church every year!

What is the UnReached Experience: 10 Minutes in Tanzania?
It is an immersive virtual reality experience that allows you to step into Tanzania and witness how the Gospel is spreading through multiple generations of disciples, following the story to our central character, Salma.
How long is the Experience?
The VR experience is about 10 minutes long.
Are the VR headsets hard to setup?
We provide an easy to follow guide with the experience, so that you can setup the VR headsets without any difficulties.
Is Wifi required to run the experience.
No, wifi is not required and we suggest that you do not connect the headsets to a wifi network.
